General Staff: Almost 100 combat clashes on front lines, 11 battles raging in Pokrovsk sector

Since the beginning of the day, 99 combat clashes have occurred on the front lines in Ukraine. In the Pokrovsk sector, 11 battles are raging.

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a situation update as of 16:00 on Saturday, June 22, Ukrinform reports.

"Since the beginning of the day, the total number of combat engagements along the entire frontline has increased to 99. In the Pokrovsk and Toretsk sectors, the enemy continues to increase the pace of offensive actions, deploying significant forces. Despite this, Ukrainian defenders are confidently holding back the onslaught of Russian troops and inflicting significant losses on the enemy," the statement said.

In the Kharkiv sector, Russians are trying to attack near Vovchansk. One battle is currently ongoing. Lyptsi was again attacked by guided aerial bombs from Russia’s territory.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian troops have already stormed the Ukrainian positions 12 times in the areas of Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Andriivka, Miasozharivka, Stelmakhivka and Pishchane. Nine Russian attempts to advance were repelled. Three combat engagements are ongoing near Stelmakhivka and Synkivka. The situation is under control.

In the Lyman sector, Russians attacked Ukrainian forces eight times near Terny and Nevske. Five engagements ended without success for the enemy, and three are still ongoing.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled eight Russian attacks near Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Rozdolivka and Vyimka. Serebrianka was hit by a guided aerial bomb.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops are trying to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Ivanivske and Hryhorivka. Two enemy attacks have been repelled and one is still ongoing.

In the Toretsk sector, the number of Russian attacks increased to 11. New York, Yurivka, and Toretsk are attacked by Russian aircraft. The defense forces repelled five enemy assaults, six attacks are still ongoing.

The Pokrovsk sector saw the highest number of combat engagements. Since the beginning of the day, the invaders have made 32 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhivka, Yevhenivka, Sokil, Novoselivka Persha and Novopokrovske. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and repelled 21 enemy attacks. Eleven combat engagements are still ongoing.

Fighting continues in the Kurakhove sector. Russians are attacking near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka and Paraskoviivka with the support of aircraft. Kostiantynivka and Kurakhove came under attack with guided aerial bombs and unguided aerial missiles. The total number of attacks in the sector has increased to nine, of which four have been repelled and five are still ongoing.

In the Vremivka sector, Russian troops made six unsuccessful attempts to break through the Ukrainian defensive lines near Staromaiorske, Urozhaine and Vodiane.

In the Orikhiv sector, four Russian assaults failed near Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka and Kamianske, and another battle is underway.

In the Dnipro River sector, two Russian attacks in the Krynky area had no success.

In other areas, the situation has not changed significantly.
