The inspection of the combat readiness of the troops announced in Belarus does not pose a threat to Ukraine at the moment.

This was stated by the spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, Andrii Demchenko, on the air of the United News telethon, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Belarus has repeatedly conducted either exercises or checking the readiness of its troops. Of course, everything that happens on the territory of Belarus is actively monitored by intelligence units in order to understand how threatening the situation can be for Ukraine. But despite everything, at the moment, even during preliminary inspections, we do not record the movement of any equipment or personnel near our border, including from units of the Belarusian army," Demchenko said.

He also noted that Russia currently does not have forces on the territory of Belarus sufficient to invade the territory of Ukraine. Earlier, Russia withdrew its units, which were in Belarus for exercises, but did not bring in new ones.

At the same time, the SBGS spokesman stressed that we need to be prepared for any development of the situation, as Russia can continue to transfer its units to Belarus at any time.

"Therefore... this direction is also a priority for us and remains threatening, so we are strengthening the entire length of the border with Belarus, from Volyn to the Chernihiv region. We are strengthening both the border line and the border area so that all our soldiers, including those of the State Border Guard Service, have every opportunity to repel any attack and counteract any threat," Demchenko said.

As reported, an inspection of the readiness of the Armed Forces units and units to perform their assigned tasks began in Belarus on June 21. The inspection involved military units and subunits of operational commands, special operations forces, missile and artillery troops, air force and air defense forces.
