Militants launch 49 attacks on ATO troops in eastern Ukraine

The situation in ATO area in eastern Ukraine remains tense. The pro-Russian illegal armed groups continue to resort to more intensive armed provocations. A total of 49 attacks were launched on Ukrainian positions in last day.

This is reported by the ATO Headquarters press center.

The enemy launched 15 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donetsk direction. The terrorists used 82mm and 120mm mortars to fire at ATO troops near Opytne (11.5km north-west of Donetsk), Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk), Avdiyivka (18km north of Donetsk).

The strongholds near Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk) and Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk) came under small arm, heavy machine gun and grenade launcher fire.

Thirty-one enemy attacks were recorded in Mariupol direction. The militants used 82mm and 120mm mortars to fire at Ukrainian positions near Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol) and Hranitne (57km south of Donetsk). The ATO troops near Berezove (35km south-west of Donetsk), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk), Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk), Taramchuk (30km south-west of Donetsk) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol) were shelled from grenade launchers of different systems and heavy machine guns.
