Kurchenko to finance Kharkiv's preparations for EuroBasket 2015

The businessman disclosed such intentions to the city mayor and the head of the regional state administration, the city council's press service told a UKRINFORM reporter.

"Serhiy Kurchenko expressed his desire to invest in Kharkiv's preparations for the European championship to City Mayor Hennadiy Kernes and Regional Governor Mykhailo Dobkin on Saturday during the [football] match between Metalist and Volyn," the press service reported.

During the discussion of this issue the sides outlined priorities in Kharkiv's preparations for the EuroBasket 2015 European Basketball Championship.

As UKRINFORM reported, Kharkiv City Council has already allocated a land plot for the construction of a sports arena and a training complex. The cost of construction work is estimated at UAH 280 million. The arena is designed for 6,000 spectators, and it will be capable of seating 7,000 persons during concerts.
