Energy Ministry sets up Group for coordination of international aid for prompt restoration of generation

The Ministry of Energy has created a Group for the coordination of international assistance for the prompt restoration of the energy system and preparation for winter, with Ukrainian and foreign experts on board.

That’s according to the ministry’s press service, Ukrinform reports.

"According to the order of the Minister of Energy, German Galushchenko, to respond to the emergency situation in the energy sector after the massive Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure, the Group for the Coordination of International Aid was created under the Ministry of Energy for the prompt restoration of the energy system and preparation for winter," the statement reads.

It is noted that both Ukrainian and foreign experts will participate in the group’s work.

It is also reported that the Ministry held a working meeting with the participation of U.S. Ambassador Bridget Brink. The parties discussed the issue of coordination of cooperation with international partners, including regarding prompt restoration of generating capacities and preparation of the power system for the next winter.

The issue of the supply and purchase of equipment necessary to strengthen the stability of the energy system, as well as the possibility of attracting expert assistance from the United States for the preparation and implementation of solutions that will allow for decentralizing generation, was discussed separately.

As reported earlier, the government has created a Headquarters for preparing for the next heating season, which will coordinate efforts to overcome consequences of Russian energy terror.
