"Last season, the most important factor for the export of Ukrainian grain was the opening of the Ukrainian Humanitarian Corridor, which allowed exports by sea from the deep-water ports of Odesa region. The second most important factor was the introduction by Ukraine, together with international partners, of a working mechanism for insuring vessels calling at Ukrainian ports, which reduced the costs of export logistics for exporters and, consequently, Ukrainian agricultural producers. Due to these two factors, Ukraine continued to export grain and ensure food security in many countries of the world," the Grain Association summed up.

As reported, as of 4 July, Ukraine harvested grains and legumes from the total area of 967,200 hectares, with the yield of 3.36 M tonnes of grain and the average yield of 34.8 centners per hectare. The largest amount of wheat was harvested, with 1.63 M tonnes harvested from 482,000 hectares at 33.8 c/ha. Barley was harvested from an area of 402,000 hectares, with a yield of 1.56 M tonnes at 38.9 c/ha.
