Soon Ukrainian citizens will be able to freely drive cars in Italy using Ukrainian driving license.

The press service of the Ukrainian vice prime minister reported.

“An agreement on mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses was signed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Italian Republic,” reads a report.

The agreement is set up for the term of five years and comes into effect in 60 days after the date of the last report is received by the sides on their fulfilment of all needed procedures. Then, Ukraine and Italy will hold consultations regarding the further effect of the document.

From the Ukrainian side, the document was signed by Vice Prime Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Service Hennadiy Zubko during an official visit of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to Italy.

“The Ukrainian Government by signing of this agreement saves drivers from passing exams and paying money in Italy. Now they will be able to freely drive cars in Italy using Ukrainian driving licenses. The Italian system will equally recognize it and the document issued in this country,” Hennadiy Zubko commented on the signed agreement.
