Svitolina reaches Abu Dhabi Open quarterfinals

Ukraine's top-seeded tennis player and world No. 5 Elina Svitolina has defeated Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova (world No. 33) in the third round of the 2021 Abu Dhabi Women's Tennis Open in the UAE, with $565,530 in prize money.
Svitolina beat Alexandrova 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (10-8) on Sunday, January 10, according to Ukrinform.
The opponents spent two hours and 35 minutes on the court.

In the quarterfinals, Svitolina will take on another Russian tennis player, Veronika Kudermetova (No. 46). The latter defeated Spaniard Paula Badosa (No. 70) in the second round 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
