Ukraine draws 1-1 with Finland in World Cup qualifier

Ukraine's national football team has played out a 1-1 draw with Finland in a 2022 World Cup qualifier.

The match took place at the Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex in Kyiv on Sunday, March 28, according to Ukrinform.

Junior Moraes scored for Ukraine in the 80th minute, but Teemu Pukki equalized from the penalty spot in the 89th minute.

Ukraine defender Vitaliy Mykolenko was sent off in the 88th minute.

In another Group D match, Kazakhstan lost 0-2 to current world champions France in Nur-Sultan.

France took the lead in Group D with four points from two games, followed by Finland (two points), Ukraine (two points), Bosnia and Herzegovina (one point), and Kazakhstan (zero points).

Ukraine will play their next World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan in Kyiv on March 31.
