Kuleba: EU pledges to impose strong sanctions on Russia within 24 hours

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Josep Borrell has promised that the European Union will impose strong painful sanctions on Russia within 24 hours.

He added that US sanctions against Russia would also be announced in the near future.

Kuleba said that almost 50 countries had already clearly accused Russia of aggression, "and this number will grow."

The Foreign Minister called on Ukrainians to fight, hold on, and support the Ukrainian military as much as possible.

"No one, it is true, will fight for us. We are able to defend ourselves, but they will help us in this," Kuleba assured.

He informed that Ukraine called on its partners to help our country with weapons, sanctions, and humanitarian support as soon as possible.

Kuleba is currently on his way to Ukraine from New York, where he spoke at the UN General Assembly, and will soon continue to coordinate the work of the Ministry from Kyiv.

As reported, head of the aggressor country Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of “a special military operation in Donbas”.

At about 04:00, February 24, Russia attacked Ukraine and launched war.

On the morning of February 24, the Verkhovna Rada approved a presidential decree on the imposition of martial law throughout Ukraine.
