Blinken: US preparing supplies of new defensive weapons to Ukraine
The United States is considering supplies of new defensive weapons to Ukraine.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed this in a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, Ukrinform reports citing the Foreign Ministry's press service.
The heads of Ukrainian and American diplomacy exchanged their assessments of the security situation during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
“Secretary informed Dmytro Kuleba on the content of the new US sanctions against Russia to force it into peace. Secretary Blinken also confirmed that Washington is considering supplying new defensive weapons to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities,” reads the statement.
As noted, Blinken expressed great appreciation of the actions made by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, all national defense forces to resist the Russian attack and protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
