Zelensky comments on fake news: I'm on the ground, we’re not laying down arms
President Volodymyr Zelensky has assured Ukrainians that he had not called on the Army to surrender – despite a number of fake reports spun in the information space.
This is stated in a new video address the head of state posted on Instagram, Ukrinform reports.
"Good morning, Ukrainians. Now there is a lot of fake information emerging on the Internet claiming I am calling for our Army to lay down their arms and that evacuation is underway. So here’s the thing. I'm here in the ground, we will not lay down our arms. We will defend our state because our weapon is our truth. Our truth is that this is our land, our country, and our children. And we will defend all this," Zelensky said.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the advisor to the head of the President’s Office, Mykhailo Podoliak, stated that the situation in Kyiv is currently fully controlled by Ukrainian security forces.
