Zelensky called on Ukraine's international friends to come and help defend country

President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on Ukraine's international friends to come and defend the country in the war waged by the Russian Federation.

The leader has assured that the Ukrainian government will provide weapons to anyone willing to take up arms.

Zelensky made the corresponding appeal during his televised address, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The head of state stressed that every Ukrainian should stop and destroy the occupiers if possible. He also called on citizens able to come back from abroad to return to their country, defend it, and then rebuild it.

"All those who are able to defend Ukraine abroad, do it – purposefully, unitedly, and continuously. All friends of Ukraine who are willing to join the defense, come – we will give you weapons. All the details of how this could be done will be announced in the near future. Glory to those who are defending Ukraine today! You are heroes!” the president of Ukraine emphasized.

As reported earlier, the head of the aggressor power, Vladimir Putin, on February 24 announced the launch of a special military operation “in Donbas.”

Martial law has been imposed across Ukraine. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization.
