Journalist shot dead by Russian occupiers in Kherson Region
A journalist from Navkolo Tebe weekly publication has been shot dead by Russian occupiers in Kherson Region.
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova on her Facebook page, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Near the village of Zelenivka, Kherson Region, Dilierbek Shakirov, a civil journalist from Navkolo Tebe weekly publication and a member of the House of Hope Charity Fund, was shot dead with an automatic gun from a car,” Venediktova wrote.
In addition, according to Venediktova, on Saturday, February 26, 2022, an ambulance car came under fire on a highway in Kherson Region, when transporting the wounded. A 64-year-old ambulance driver and a wounded soldier died in fire. One of the wounded also received a bullet wound.
Following these cases, law enforcement officers have opened criminal proceedings.
“All of those who commit the most serious crimes against civilians will not escape responsibility. The prosecution and law enforcement authorities continue to record and investigate the war crimes committed by Russia’s military,” Venediktova stressed.
