Zelensky: We will fight as long as it takes to rid our country of occupation

Ukrainian people are delivering a decent rebuff to the invaders and will fight as long as it takes to liberate our country.

This was emphasized by President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine in a video address to the nation, Ukrinform reports.

"We are strongly repelling the enemy. And I just want to say one thing: we will fight as long as it takes to liberate our country," he said.

The president noted that today in Kyiv, there was a beautiful sunny day, which the invaders tried to destroy like everything else in our country’s history. He also said that today was the first day of life of a girl who was born this Saturday night in the Kyiv metro, which serves as a shelter for Kyiv residents.

"If children get to be born in shelters, under continuous shelling, the enemy has no chance in this people's war," Zelensky said.

As Ukrinform reported, a child was born on February 26 in one of the capital’s bomb shelters amid ongoing Russian aggression.

The head of the aggressor state, Vladimir Putin, earlier announced the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. At about 4:00 am Kyiv time on February 24, Russia attacked Ukraine and unleashed a war.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky introduced martial law.

On the morning of February 24, the Verkhovna Rada approved the relevant presidential decree.
