Russian invasion update: Russians kill 10 Greek nationals near Mariupol – PM

Ten Greek nationals have been killed by Russian bombing near the city of Mariupol.

The relevant statement was made by Reuters, referring to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Ten innocent civilians of Greek origin (were) killed today by Russian air strikes close to Mariupol. Stop the bombing now!” Mitsotakis said in a tweet.

Russia’s ambassador has been summoned to the Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry to provide an explanation on Monday.

Greece has also expressed willingness to take in Ukrainian refugees if necessary.

“If we have to take in a number of people we are willing to do it. The cost will be covered by Europe, but at this moment the priority is the humane dimension,” Greek Migration Minister Notis Mitarachi noted.

A reminder that Russian occupiers have shelled nearby villages around Mariupol, but the city itself is remaining Ukrainian controlled.
