Zelensky discusses Ukraine's membership in EU with European Commission President
President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed Ukraine's membership in the European Union with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
“Also had a phone conversation with Ursula von der Leyen. Talked about concrete decisions on strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, macro-financial assistance and Ukraine's membership in the EU,” Zelensky posted on Twitter.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky agreed on further joint steps to counter the aggressor with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson and President of Poland Andrzej Duda.
Russian president Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine on February 24 and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure. Missiles hit residential buildings.
Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
Ukraine officially filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation at the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague.
