Government approves UAH 100,000 in salaries for military on the frontline
The Ukrainian military defending the frontline will be paid UAH 100,000 per month.
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov on his Facebook page, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Ukraine will pay the military UAH 100,000 per month [the National Bank’s exchange rate as of February 28, 2022: USD 1 = UAH 29.2549 – Ed.]. The relevant decision has been endorsed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine pursuant to the Decrees of the President of Ukraine today,” Reznikov wrote.
In his words, for the duration of the martial law, the members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Security Service of Ukraine, the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the National Guard of Ukraine, the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service, the Administration of the State Guard of Ukraine, the Ukrainian State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection, junior and senior personnel of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service and police will receive an additional monthly benefit of UAH 30,000.
Meanwhile, for the military involved in military actions directly or providing national security and defense measures, repulsing and deterring armed aggression, the additional monthly benefit will be raised to UAH 100,000 in proportion to the time spent on such activities and measures.
The families of the military killed in the war will receive a one-time monetary aid of UAH 15 million divided equally between all recipients.
“We are doing so to make our defenders aware that the country is grateful to them. The state must pay decently for this important work,” Reznikov noted.
In his words, the Ukrainian government is making every effort to increase the defense capability at the international level. Reznikov also expressed gratitude to all partner countries for their support.
