Russian forces shell military unit in Zhytomyr region

The Russian aggressor fired on a military unit in Horodok settlement, Zhytomyr region. Casualties have been reported.

Head of Zhytomyr Military Administration Vitalii Bunechko said in a video address, Ukrinform reported.

"In the evening [February 28], the Horodok community sustained shelling, the military unit came under fire. The number of losses is being estimated, but unfortunately, some people have been killed. Our condolences to relatives and friends," Bunechko said.

The head of the regional administration added that the Monsanto elevator in Kvitneva settlement also came under fire yesterday.

"This is one of the largest investors in Zhytomyr region. They are destroying our economy, which we have thoroughly built. We will restore it and we are sure that we will win,” Bunechko said.

As reported, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion.
