U.S. continues to help Ukraine and hold Russia accountable - White House
The United States continues to provide security, economic, and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine and is working with other Western nations to bring serious consequences against Russia and hold it accountable for its aggression against Ukraine.
The White House said this in a statement after Tuesday's call between U.S. President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrinform reports.
"President Biden underscored the United States’ sustained help for Ukraine, including ongoing deliveries of security assistance, economic support, and humanitarian aid," the statement reads.
It also notes that the leaders discussed how the United States, along with Allies and partners, is working to hold Russia accountable, including by imposing sanctions that are already having an impact on the Russian economy.
"The leaders discussed Russia's escalation of attacks on sites used by civilians in Ukraine, including today's bombing near Babyn Yar Holocaust memorial," the White House said.
As was reported earlier, the phone call between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States took place on Tuesday. Zelensky thanked Biden for supporting the Ukrainian state.
