Zelensky: War in Ukraine is war all over the world
The war in Ukraine is a war for values, for life, for democracy, for freedom; it is a war all over the world.
This was emphasized by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with CNN and Reuters, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"It is very important for the people of the United States to understand that, despite the fact that this is the war in Ukraine, this is a war for values, life, democracy and freedom in general. So it is a war in the whole world. Such important things are very difficult for people to understand until it is raging right here, at home, or at that or your neighbor," the Ukrainian leader said.
Zelensky hopes that these words will "reach out" to the citizens of the United States so that they understand what Ukrainians are going through now, and also realize that it’s not for nothing that they should support Ukraine.
The Ukrainian head of state noted that he had spoken to U.S. President Joe Biden multiple times and thanked the American leader for his help.
He also noted that Ukraine will fight hard, but needs the help of international partners.
As reported, Russia launched a war with Ukraine on February 24 at the behest of aggressor President Vladimir Putin. For the sixth day in a row, Russian troops are shelling and destroying key infrastructure, missiles are aimed at resident buildings. Martial law has been imposed in Ukraine
Ukraine has officially filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation with the UN International Criminal Court in The Hague.
