Russia’s losses reached nearly 9,000 in a week – Zelensky

The number of Russian invaders killed by the Ukrainian forces have reached nearly 9,000 only in one week since the invasion began.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this in a video address on Wednesday evening, Ukrinform reports.

"Our army is doing everything to break the enemy once and for all. Almost 9,000 Russians have been killed in one week,” the President said.

According to him, in Mykolaiv direction, the enemy is forced to use tens of helicopters to pick up Russian dead bodies.

“19 and 20-year-olds. What have they seen in their lives except for invading someone else's land?!” Zelensky emphasized.

Zelensky noted that the Russian army doesn’t even take away the dead bodies of its soldiers, they remain everywhere.

"Ukraine does not want to be covered with the dead bodies of soldiers. Go home with your whole army! Tell your command that you want to live, that you don't want to die. We need to stop the war and restore peace as soon as possible," Zelensky stressed.

As reported, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure. Missiles hit residential buildings.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.

Ukraine officially filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation with the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague.
