Germany to supply 2,700 SAMs to Ukraine

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs has endorsed the supply of 2,700 surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) to Ukraine.

The relevant statement was made by the German Press Agency (dpa), an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

This refers to the Soviet-made Strela anti-aircraft missiles, which are part of the inventories of the former German Democratic Republic’s army.

Over the past few days, the German Federal Defense Ministry has been checking for other weapons they could supply to the Armed Forces of Ukraine amid the war started by Russia.

A reminder that, recently, Ukraine has received the first batch of weapons from Germany, i.e. 1,000 anti-tank weapons and 500 Stinger surface-to-air missiles.
