Russia may be preparing to shell its own territory in order to accuse Ukraine - FM
The Russians may be preparing a provocation by shelling their own territory from the Ukrainian border village of Popivka and then accuse Ukraine of this crime.
According to Ukrinform, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said this on Twitter.
"Worrying reports: Russians might have pointed multiple rocket-launching systems in the village of Popivka bordering Russia towards their own territory. Knowing the barbaric nature of Russian actions we fear a false flag operation might be prepared in order to accuse Ukraine," Kuleba wrote.
On February 24, the aggressor country, the Russian Federation, on the instructions of its leader Vladimir Putin, declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion.
Russian troops are shelling and destroying infrastructure, administrative buildings and homes in cities and villages. Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was declared.
Ukraine filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation to the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
