Army urges Ukrainians to put up total resistance in territories occupied by invaders
The Ministry of Defense calls on Ukrainians to put up total popular resistance in the territories temporarily occupied by Russian invaders.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense on Facebook, as seen by Ukrinform.
"Part of our territory is temporarily occupied by the Russian invader. Now is the time for Ukrainians to put up a total popular resistance!" said the statement.
The Ministry of Defense explains that a tank battalion of 30 tanks that can’t get through the positions of our Armed Forces might lose five to six tanks, but not their combat capability. However, if the rear convoys bringing ammunition, fuel, spare parts, and repairmen to these tanks are stopped or destroyed, the battalion becomes completely incapable.
"Enemy maintenance units in their rear are not armored, guarded by soldiers without combat experience, thus being easy targets. Even simple measures, such as felling trees, will help burn and destroy the convoy and take POWS. If we block rear supplies, we finish this war within days. Total unity – total rebellion – total blockade. All means must be applied," the Defense Ministry said.
The Ministry of Defense points out that this applies only to areas where the enemy is deployed.
As reported, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops are shelling and destroying infrastructure, massively shelling residential areas across Ukrainian cities and towns, using artillery, MLR systems, and ballistic missiles.
Martial law was imposed in the country and general mobilization was announced.
Ukraine has filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation with the UN Criminal Court in The Hague.
