Kuleba calls on NATO foreign ministers not to allow Putin to turn Ukraine into Syria

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has called on the foreign ministers of NATO countries not to allow Russian President Vladimir Putin to turn Ukraine into Syria.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba wrote this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

"Took part in the extraordinary meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers. My message: act now before it’s too late. Don’t let Putin turn Ukraine into Syria. We are ready to fight. We will continue fighting. But we need partners to help us with concrete, resolute and swift actions, now," he said.

In his statement, Kuleba drew the attention of diplomats to the fact that Ukrainian civilians are dying from brutal Russian pilots bombing them.

"I am convinced that this war is unfolding in such a way that when the time comes, you will want to give us anything, literally anything we need to keep Putin from hitting Europe and turning Europe into a nightmare. And my hope, my only hope, is that it will not be too late," the minister stressed.

An extraordinary meeting of NATO foreign ministers took place in the Belgian capital Brussels on March 4, amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said after the meeting that the Alliance is not a party to the conflict in Ukraine and must ensure that it does not spread to the rest of Europe and the Allies, so the Alliance will not create a no-fly zone over Ukraine which requires the use of combat aircraft.
