Putin planning to involve CSTO in war against Ukraine - Danilov
Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to involve representatives of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in the war against Ukraine.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said this, referring to intelligence data, on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"Our intelligence provides the following data. Now Putin has a great desire to involve the CSTO - Kyrgyz, Uzbeks, other nationalities. I think if we see this, it will be unacceptable. Moreover, we have information that they are going to gather people from the Far East, which is home to Udmurts and Yakuts. They are gathering people there, because there are not so many people willing to fight," Danilov said.
As was reported earlier, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops are shelling and destroying infrastructure, massively shelling residential areas of Ukrainian cities and towns using artillery, multiple launch rocket systems and ballistic missiles.
Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
Ukraine officially filed a lawsuit against Russia to the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
