Johnson: World will strengthen sanctions against Russia until aggression stops
Britain, along with the United States and the European Union, imposed a package of global sanctions and will strengthen them "unless and until this aggression stops."
"I want to speak directly to the Ukrainians here in the UK and to those in Ukraine and neighboring countries," British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said in his video address in Ukrainian.
According to Johnson, the world is turning its back on Putin and his regime. The free world is united in its resolve to stand up to his barbarism, he added.
Meanwhile, the fortitude and defiance of the Ukrainian people in the face of this unjust aggression is moving hearts around the world.
According to him, the world is turning its back on Putin and his regime.
"We are doing everything we can to support you and to impose a mountain of pressure on Vladimir Putin. We’re working with more than 25 allies and partners, to support those engaged in the battle, not only to protect their homes but freedom and democracy itself," he said.
According to Johnson, he speaks to President Volodymyr Zelensky almost every day.
"I marvel at his bravery, his calm, his sense of purpose, just as I marvel at the heroism and resolve of the Ukrainian people. And I know that however long it takes, however arduous, Putin must fail," Johnson added.
The British PM also noted that the UK would provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
