Russian shelling turns towns of Luhansk region into ruins – green corridor being prepared

In Luhansk region, the Russian aggressor is turning the towns of Severodonetsk, Lysychansk, and Popasna into ruins. A green corridor is being prepared to evacuate the population.

"Important information: A green corridor is being prepared. At the highest level… We can’t raise our heads due to shelling – in Severodonetsk, Lysychansk, Popasna. Russian aircraft and artillery are turning our towns into ruins," Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Haidai posted on Facebook.

He noted that shells hit high-rise apartment blocks and private houses, hospitals, schools, kindergartens, utilities. There are a lot of unexploded ordnance of different types and calibers in residential districts.

"Russians deliberately cut off water, gas, electricity supply, roads for evacuation, delivery of food and medicines," Haidai said.

He also added that the Russian aggressor is jamming mobile communications.

According to Haidai, the establishment of a humanitarian corridor is currently being planned at the state level. But information about a green corridor should come from an official source.

"Don't believe the Russian occupiers and their corridors – they are capable of any provocation!" the head of the region urged the population.

As reported, on February 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion.

Russian troops are killing civilians, shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, and missiles hit Ukrainians' homes.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced. The Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the support of the entire nation, courageously resist Russian aggression.

Ukraine filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation at the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague. International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Khan commenced an investigation into the situation in Ukraine.
