Ukrainian Army’s morning update on Russian invasion: Day 11
Today is the 11th day of Ukraine’s heroic resistance to the Russian military invasion. The Ukrainian Security and Defense Forces have been fighting fierce battles, holding their ground in the designated areas.
That’s according to a morning update by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
The enemy, suffering losses, is trying to avoid direct fire contact with the Ukrainian military.
It is noted that the joint forces are running a defensive operation in the eastern part of the Donetsk operational district. The main efforts are focused on defending the city of Mariupol and inflicting fire damage on the overwhelming enemy forces. Other groups are running a defensive operation amid the ongoing defensive battles in Slobozhansky and in the eastern part of the Tavriyskiy directions. In particular, units of the Air Assault forces stopped enemy convoys trying to advance towards Dnipropetrovsk region from Balaklia.
An operation to defend Chernihiv is underway in the Siverskyi direction. In the Volyn direction, measures are being taken to prepare the entire defense area in a designated operational zone along the state border of Ukraine.
In addition, in the coastal area, the Ukrainian forces are defending Black Sea bases and seaports. In the Mykolaiv region, the Ukrainian forces captured a significant number of enemy armored vehicles in a well-planned strike.
In other areas, Ukrainian units are conducting a stabilization operation and performing territorial defense tasks in order to prevent offensive action on the part of the enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
It is reported that the Air Force is focused on repelling enemy missile strikes, shielding critical infrastructure facilities, and groups of troops.
"In total, as of now, Russian invaders’ losses in terms of aircraft amount to 88. Some enemy pilots who catapulted and survived were detained by Ukrainian soldiers. They have been provided with medical care and are now testifying about the Vladimir Putin regime's crimes against humanity," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
The press service states that the enemy is trying not to water down its offensive potential, but in the current situation it keeps suffering major losses in weapons, hardware, and manpower.
Due to the resistance of the entire Ukrainian nation, the enemy has been demoralized. Russian military reserves that are being deployed to replenish the invading units have extremely low morale and unstable psychological condition as newly arrived forces are aware of the actual state of affairs on the ground.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion.
Russian troops have been killing civilians, shelling and destroying key infrastructure, and their missiles have been hitting Ukrainian households.
Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced. The Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the support of the entire nation, are courageously resisting aggression.
