More than 63,000 IDPs moved to Lviv Region since Russian invasion started
A total of 63.6 thousand internally displaced persons (IDPs) have been accommodated within Lviv Region since the Russian invasion started.
The relevant statement was made by Lviv Regional State Administration, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“In cooperation with the heads of territorial communities, Lviv Regional Military Administration has deployed more than 80,000 accommodation places. As of March 5, 2022, the total number of people accommodated came to 63.6 thousand persons,” the report states.
Earlier, Lviv Regional Military Administration created a center for the acceptance and accommodation of IDPs at Arena Lviv. These activities are coordinated by the Economic Policy Department. In particular, they offer two accommodation options: temporary accommodation near the railway station for those who are planning to travel abroad or other regions; or long-term accommodation.
A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war. Russian troops are killing civilians, shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching missile strikes on residential houses.
