Humanitarian corridors open only in Sumy region – adviser to interior minister

Humanitarian corridors have been opened only in Sumy region so far, whereas it is still difficult to talk about other regions.

Vadym Denysenko, an adviser to the interior minister, said this during a nationwide telethon on Ukrainian TV channels, Ukrinform reports.

“As of now, humanitarian corridors are available only in Sumy region. In fact, it is still very difficult to talk about any other humanitarian corridors,” Denysenko said.

As reported, on Thursday, humanitarian corridors were opened from Mariupol, Volnovakha, Izium, Sumy, Trostianets and Krasnopillia and some cities near Kyiv - Bucha, Borodianka, Irpin and Hostomel.

Later, Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk said that the evacuation of people from Mariupol was blocked, whereas the situation with evacuation in the Kyiv direction was slightly better.

On February 24, Russia declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure. Missiles hit residential buildings.
