2 killed, 6 wounded in attack on airfield in Lutsk

Two servicemen were killed and six more were wounded as a result of the shelling of the Lutsk military airfield, northwestern Ukraine.

"On March 11, four missiles were fired on the military airfield in Lutsk from a Russian army bomber as we assess. Unfortunately, there are human losses. At present, two servicemen have been killed and six have received wounds of varying severity. The rubbles are being cleared away," Head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration Yuriy Pohulyayko said in a video address on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

As reported, several explosions were heard in Lutsk on the morning of March 11 at 5:45 as missiles hit a military airfield. Due to the explosions, Lutskteplo heat provider temporarily suspended the operation of two boiler houses.

On February 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin announced the start of the invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops are shelling and destroying key infrastructure, missiles are hitting houses.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the support of the entire nation, are courageously resisting aggression.
