Artillery shell hits apartment block in Kyiv
At 05:00 on March 14, an artillery shell hit a nine-story apartment block in Obolonskyi residential district, Kyiv city.
"At 05:09, March 14, an artillery shell hit a nine-storey apartment block at 20 Bohatyrska Street in Obolonskyi district, causing partial destruction from the 1st to the 3rd floors and the burning of apartments on the 3rd and 4th floors," Anton Gerashchenko, Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, posted on Telegram.
As the State Emergency Service of Ukraine posted on Telegram, "there was a partial destruction of the stairwell from 1st to 3rd floors and the facade of the house from 1st to 9th floors, as well as fires in apartments on the 3rd and 4th floors."
At 07:04, a fire was isolated on an area of 500 square meters in a nine-storey residential building at 20 Bohatyrska Street in Obolonskyi district. SES units have rescued four people, the search works continue.
Information about casualties is being clarified.
On February 24, Russian president Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops shell and destroy infrastructure, conduct massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and towns using artillery, MLRS, and ballistic missiles.
