Enemy missile shot down over Cherkasy region

Ukrainian military shot down an enemy missile in the sky over Cherkasy region. The missile fell on electric wires and set fire to the grass.

"The wreckage damaged the power line and the grass caught on fire. Employees of the State Emergency Service in Cherkasy region isolated the fire. Now power engineers are actively working to repair the damage. No casualties were reported. The situation in the region is stable and controlled. The air defense system works successfully,” the Main Department of the National Police in Cherkasy region posted on Facebook.

This is the second Russian missile shot down by Ukraine’s air defense forces over Cherkasy region, central Ukraine.

On February 24, Russian president Putin announced the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops shell and destroy key infrastructure facilities, missiles hit residential buildings.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
