Russian aircraft hits village in Zhytomyr region
Russian military launched an airstrike on the village of Riznia in Zhytomyr region. Residential houses were damaged, grass caught on fire.
"An outbuilding and part of a residential building with a man inside were destroyed in an air strike on the village of Riznia, Korosten district, on March 17. The man was not injured," the Zhytomyr Region Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine posted on Facebook.
As a result of the airstrike, several private houses were damaged and dry grass caught on fire on an area of 1 hectare.
No casualties were reported.
On February 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops destroy key infrastructure, massively shell residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, and ballistic missiles.
Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced. Ukraine repels Russian invaders.
