Italy ready to rebuild Drama Theater in Mariupol

Italian Culture Minister Dario Franceschini has said that Italy is ready to rebuild the Drama Theater in Mariupol, which Russian invaders destroyed on March 16.

According to Ukrinform, he said this in a statement posted on Twitter.

"Italy is ready to rebuild the Theater of Mariupol. The [Italian] Cabinet of Ministers has approved my proposal to offer Ukraine the resources and means to rebuild it as soon as possible," Francescini wrote.

He also added that theaters of all countries belong to the whole humanity.

On March 16, in the center of Mariupol, Russian invaders dropped an air bomb on the Drama Theater, which served as a shelter for hundreds of people.

According to MP Serhii Taruta, the theater's bomb shelter withstood the impact of the airstrike and people remained alive.

The Russians caused the worst humanitarian catastrophe in Mariupol. Unable to defeat the Ukrainian army, the invaders bomb unarmed people and block humanitarian aid.
