Bodies of 24 victims found under rubble of Kharkiv Regional State Administration

Over three weeks since the building of Kharkiv Regional State Administration was shelled by Russian troops, rescuers have found the bodies of 24 victims.

The relevant statement was made by Spokesman of the Main Department of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service in Kharkiv Region Yevhen Vasylenko in a commentary to Suspilne, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Since the building of Kharkiv Regional State Administration on Sumska Street was shelled [March 1, 2022 – Ed.], the bodies of 24 victims have been found under the rubble. Rescuers continue to dismantle the debris,” the report states.

Initially, seven people were reported dead. Later, the death toll increased to ten people. The final numbers are yet to be updated, as rescue operations are still underway.

A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war. Russian troops are shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching missile strikes on Ukrainian cities and villages, killing civilians.
