Donetsk Region under extensive shelling by Russians: Phosphorus munitions and casualties among civilians
Russian invaders are continuously shelling the contact line within the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donetsk Region.
The relevant statement was made by Donetsk Regional Military Administration Head Pavlo Kyrylenko on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“In Donetsk Region, Russians are extensively shelling the contact line. Over the past day, one person has been killed with mortar fire at the exit from Marinka. Casualty numbers are yet to be updated,” Kyrylenko wrote.
Within the Avdiivka industrial site, Russians used phosphorus munitions. The effects are now being investigated.
According to Kyrylenko, the outskirts of Toretsk also came under heavy shelling. A total of 16 transformer substations were damaged there, but 12 of them had already been repaired.
“This morning we have started relevant works to resume electricity supplies. Fortunately, there were no casualties among civilians within the Toretsk community, but houses were seriously damaged. The evidence is being recorded. We continue to evacuate civilians from the frontline settlements,” Kyrylenko noted.
A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war. Russian troops are shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching missile and air strikes on Ukrainian cities and villages, killing civilians.
