Residents of Kherson again take to streets, Russians open fire
Residents of Kherson, despite the fact that Russian invaders are abducting people and using weapons against peaceful protesters, have arrived at Freedom Square, with the Russian military shooting at them again.
Demonstrators reported this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
The Russian occupiers warned those who came to Freedom Square through loudspeakers that any rallies were forbidden.
Many participants in such peaceful events have already been abducted by Russian aggressors, but residents of the city still take to the streets, participants in the peaceful rally said. According to them, Kherson residents want to show the aggressors that they are not afraid of them.
Despite the demands by armed Russian forces to disperse, Kherson residents are shouting: "Kherson is Ukraine!", "Glory to Ukraine!"
They are chanting anti-Russian and anti-Putin slogans, the legendary phrase about a Russian warship, demanding that the Russian military "Go home!"
The Russian military opened fire, using gas grenades. According to demonstrators, some people were injured. People do not disperse. They stay on Myrny Boulevard, near Freedom Square.
"We are fighting as hard as we can," Kherson residents said.
Residents of the Kherson region regularly hold peaceful protests against Russian aggressors.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of an all-out invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying critical infrastructure, residential neighborhoods of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
