Two children seriously injured in Russia’s artillery shelling of Lysychansk

Russian invaders have shelled the city of Lysychansk with artillery systems, leaving four family members wounded.

The relevant statement was made by Luhansk Regional Military Administration Head Serhii Haidai on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The enemy shelled Lysychansk with artillery systems at about 10:00 a.m., leaving four family members wounded. Both parents received shrapnel wounds. Their condition was stabilized. The situation with children is much worse. They are in a critical condition at a local hospital,” Haidai told.

The girl, born in 2020, received a gunshot (shrapnel) wound in the abdomen with eventration of the intestine, gunshot (shrapnel) wounds in both legs with damage to bones and vascular bundles. Her brother, born in 2014, received numerous gunshot (shrapnel) wounds, having his feet and shanks crashed.

“Most likely, according to doctors, this will lead to the amputation of both lower limbs in children. At the moment, doctors are fighting for their lives,” Haidai noted.

A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war. Russian troops are shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching missile and air strikes on Ukrainian cities and villages, killing civilians.
