Death toll from air strike on regional administration building in Mykolaiv grows to 19

The death toll from a Russian air strike on the building of the regional state administration in Mykolaiv has risen to 19 as the bodies of several more people were retrieved from the rubble.

Iliana Patsyuk, the head of the press service at the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region, confirmed the report to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Yes, so far the death toll has risen to 19. Work on dismantling the rubble continues," she said.

On March 29, at around 08:45, a Russian missile hit a nine-storey administrative building of the regional state administration in Mykolaiv. The central section of the building from the first to ninth floor was destroyed. Thirty-three people were injured.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of an all-out invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying critical infrastructure, residential areas of Ukrainian cities, towns and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers, ballistic missiles and air bombs.
