Death toll in airstrike on Mykolaiv regional administration rises to 20
The death toll from a Russian air strike on the building of the regional state administration in Mykolaiv has grown to 20 as the body of one more person was retrieved from the rubble.
The main department of the State Emergency Service in Mykolaiv region wrote this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"As of 13:00 on March 31, 20 people were killed in enemy missile strike on the building of the regional state administration in Mykolaiv (rescuers removed 19 bodies from the rubble and 1 person died in the intensive care unit). The rescue operation is ongoing,” the report says.
As reported, on March 29, the Russian strike hit the nine-story building of the regional administration and city council in Mykolaiv region. As a result, the central section of the building from the 9th to the 1st floor was destroyed, without further burning.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
