Podolyak on war with Russia: There’ll be no ‘Afghanization’
Mykhailo Podolyak, Adviser to the Head of the President's Office, says that there will be no "Afghanization" scenario and no long conflict exhausting Russia. However, to drive the Russians out, Ukraine needs heavy weapons.
“There’ll be no ‘Afghanization’ and no long conflict exhausting Russia as someone expects. Russia will leave all territories except the south and east, will try to dig in there, set air defense, drastically reduce losses and dictate terms. Without heavy weapons we won’t be able to drive Russia out,” Podolyak posted on Twitter.
On February 24, Russian president Putin started a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian invaders shell and destroy infrastructure, massively fire on residential areas of Ukrainian cities, towns, and villages using artillery, MLRS, ballistic missiles and aviation bombs.
