Ukrainian forces regain control of over 30 settlements in Kyiv region
The Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated more than 30 settlements in the Kyiv region from Russian invaders on Saturday, April 2.
Oleksiy Arestovych, an adviser to the head of the President's Office, said this at a briefing on Saturday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"From the north-west and north-east of Kyiv, our troops pushed the enemy towards the state border. They pushed them back successfully. More than 30 settlements were liberated," he said.
Arestovych noted the heroic actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the village of Dmytrivka, where two Ukrainian tanks destroyed a reinforced company of enemy tanks and a large number of armored vehicles.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying infrastructure and residential areas of Ukrainian cities, towns and villages, using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
