Zelensky: There can be no peace without victory
President Volodymyr Zelensky is convinced that Ukraine will have peace in any case, but it is impossible without victory, both in the diplomatic format and in the armed confrontation.
He said this in his interview to the foreign media during his visit to the Kyiv region, Ukrinform reported.
"I believe that in any case there will definitely be peace on the territory of Ukraine. Ukraine cannot live at war, because we live in Europe of the XXI century, and we strive for peace, and we deserve it. The people have shown this, the Armed Forces have shown this. Therefore, there must be peace in our state. But there can be no peace without victory. Victory can happen in a diplomatic format, in parallel with the combat steps of our army," Zelensky said.
According to him, the Ukrainian army takes combat steps every day, which is not easy, because Ukraine does not want to lose millions of people.
"Therefore, there must be some kind of dialogue," the President noted.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The Russian invading troops are bombing and destroying key infrastructure facilities, shelling residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages en masse with artillery, multiple rocket launchers, ballistic missiles, and aerial bombs.
The Ukrainian defense forces are repelling the enemy with dignity and have liberated the Russian-occupied settlements in Kyiv region and partially in Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
