Russia lost about 18,600 soldiers in Ukraine since invasion – General Staff
About 18,600 Russian soldiers were killed in action in Ukraine between February 24 and April 6, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has said on Facebook.
According to the post, the enemy lost 684 tanks, 1,861 armored vehicles, 332 artillery systems, 107 multiple launch rocket systems, 55 air defense systems, 150 aircraft, 135 helicopters, 1,324 vehicles, seven ships/boats, 76 fuel tankers, 94 UAVs, 25 pieces of special equipment, and four mobile SRBM systems.
Figures are being updated. The calculation is complicated by the high intensity of hostilities.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying critical infrastructure and residential areas of Ukrainian cities, towns and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
