Fate of abducted Tavriysk mayor still unknown

The fate of Mykola Rizak, the mayor of Tavriysk town in Kherson region, abducted by Russians on April 1, is still unknown.

"Unfortunately, so far there is no information about the whereabouts of Tavriysk Mayor Mykola Rizak," the Tavriysk Town Territorial Community posted on Facebook.

As noted, the secretary of the council, deputy mayors, the manager of the executive committee, district heads, heads of utility companies are at their workplaces and perform their duties in full.

As reported, since the evening of April 1, there has been no information about the whereabouts of Tavriysk Mayor Mykola Rizak. He was detained by the Russian military. Rizak is personally responsible for the lives of the 18,000-strong community.

Russian invaders abduct civilians in the region, including journalists, community leaders, local council members, and activists. The occupiers hold the abducted people in prison cells in Kherson. The fate of many civilians has been unknown for many days.

In Kherson region, residents regularly hold peaceful protests against the Russian aggressor. The Russian military uses force and weapons against people, there are wounded and detained civilians.
