Fakes for Kremlin money: Russia using 'neutral experts' because open propaganda not working
The Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has warned that Russia is spreading fakes through experts with a "neutral position."
The CCD reported this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
In particular, the Kremlin is using U.S. scientist Gordon Hahn.
"The danger is that most readers see the scholar as an expert who provides unbiased information because he openly does not support either Western countries or Russia. Pretending to be 'against everyone,' Hahn resorts to manipulations and briefly says that 'the world must make concessions to Putin,' while 'Ukrainian Nazis began to take off their masks under the pressure of war'," the CCD said.
According to the CCD, "the allegedly neutral position of world politicians and experts seems to be the most favorable for the Kremlin. When the whole world does not trust open Russian propaganda, 'neutral' experts create the illusion of impartiality of their judgments."
However, any justification of Russian aggression is the same as tacitly approving the mass murder of the Ukrainian population, the CCD said.
The CCD earlier warned that the Russians continue to spread disinformation using recruited American "experts."
For example, former US Army Reserves Officer Tulsi Gabbard has been working for a foreign audience using Kremlin money for several years. Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, a "Western expert" has said that the United States is "guilty of aggression" by Russia because it has been "provoked" for many years and that "Washington's ruling elite wants to kill as many Russians as possible with the hands of Ukrainians."
The CCD noted that Gabbard has been repeatedly accused of her connections to Putin, but that has not stopped her from speaking as an "expert" on Fox News. In addition to the topic of war, Gabbard is actively disinforming the world about the alleged development of weapons of mass destruction in Ukrainian biological laboratories.
