Russian troops kill 169 children in Ukraine
Russian troops have killed 169 children in Ukraine since February 24, according to data provided by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office.
“More than 475 children suffered in Ukraine as a result of Russia’s armed aggression. In particular, 169 children were killed and more than 306 were injured. These figures are not final, as work is underway in the areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories,” the PGO’s press service wrote on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
The largest number of victims has been recorded in Kyiv region - 88, Kharkiv region - 38, Donetsk region - 81, Chernihiv region - 50, Mykolaiv region - 40, Zhytomyr region - 15, Sumy region – 16, Kherson region – 29, and Kyiv city – 15.
In Bucha, Kyiv region, the body of a 15-year-old girl was found in a mass grave among adult victims.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region on April 7, one child was killed and two others aged 4 and 16 were injured in Russian shelling of a boat carrying 14 people.
On April 6 and 7, two minors were injured in Russian shelling of Severodonetsk, Luhansk region.
In addition, regular air strikes and shelling of civilian infrastructure and residential areas by the Russian armed forces damaged 928 educational institutions. Of which, 84 were completely destroyed.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
